Professor Louis Warren Featured in PBS Documentary

Professor Warren appeared in PBS's "American Oz," a documentary about the life and career of L. Frank Baum, the author of The Wizard of Oz.

The documentary is episode 33, season 4 of the PBS documentary series "American Experience."

Professor Materson named P.L.A.C.E. Scholar of the Quarter for Winter 2021

Congratulations to Professor Lisa Materson, who was named P.L.A.C.E. (Professors Leveraging A Community of Engagement) Scholar of the Quarter!

This award recognizes faculty whose scholarship epitomizes scholarly or creative achievements that involve diverse communities with a commitment to social change. Materson was recognized for the integration of her research with her work with the Davis-Puerto Rico Initiative and National Park Service, which demonstrate “publicly engaged scholarship that seeks to create change in communities."

Professor Kathy Olmsted, an expert on the history of anti-governmental conspiracy theories, was quoted in NPR's story, "Disinformation Still Swirls Concerning Legitimacy of Biden Administration"

Professor Kathy Olmsted briefly discusses how the recent trend of popular conspiracy theories is not new, but still increasingly dangerous.
