Bio
Doctorate Research interests: Twentieth-century Chilean history, Latin American history. My master's research focused on the intersection of western religion and indigeneity in the 1960s in Chiapas, Mexico. Entitled "The Other Indigenista: Bishop Samuel Ruiz García and the Emergence of Liberationist Indigenismo in Chiapas, Mexico, 1960-1974," my thesis examined the work of Bishop Samuel Ruiz with the Indigenous Maya of Chiapas through an indigenismo lens.
