Following the campus guidelines for Coronavirus all UC Davis classes, lectures, seminars, labs and discussion sections will move to virtual instruction and remain virtual through the end of fall quarter 2020, including final exams. Professor Downs Helps Craft Amicus Curiae Brief Supporting Movement for Black Lives

Professor Greg Downs and three other historians on Reconstruction helped craft the brief against the Trump Administration for violating Reconstruction-era civil rights enforcement laws

The Amicus Curiae Brief is part of an ongoing lawsuit against the Trump Administration for their violent clearing of Lafayette Park before the president’s bible waving press event. The four historians are named in the motion here.
