Ordaz Awarded George E. Pozzetta Dissertation Award

Congratulations to History graduate student, Yesika Ordaz! Yesika was awarded the George E. Pozzetta Dissertation Award by the Immigration and Ethnic History Society for her project, "Making Invisible Carceral Spaces Visible: Migration, State Violence, and Activism at the El Centro Immigration Detention Center, 1947-2014." Yesika will use the funds to conduct research at Stanford University this summer. The award will be presented to Yesika at the Organization of American Historians meeting in April 2016.
