Johnson Accepts Tenure-Track Position at SUNY Purchase

Congratulations to History graduate student Diana Johnson! Diana recently accepted a tenure-track assistant professor position at State University of New York, Purchase. Her position will focus on Modern American History, with an emphasis on African-American history and the ability to the contribute to the campus' Global Black Studies program. Diana's dissertation entitled, "Seattle in Coalition: Multiracial Politics, Working-Class Activism and Third World Solidarity in the Pacific Northwest, 1969-1999," is chaired by Professor Lorena Oropeza and discusses the political activism that brought together African Americans, Native Americans, Mexican Americans, and Asian Americans in labor coalitions, mass protests, and Third World solidarity movements.
