Graduate studies in World History at UC Davis introduces students to trans-regional, trans-national and global fields. Along with comparative and cross-cultural methodologies, emphasis is placed on events and processes that have transcended particular cultures and civilizations, including movements of people, commodities, religions, empires and technologies; frontiers of law and medicine; effects of disease, long distance trade, and the environment; imperialism, colonialism and de-colonization; and issues concerning women and gender.
